Great idea! And this is a chance to tell a great Christmas story. Christmas 2004 my son, Ryan, was in Baghdad, scheduled to come home in February. I told him I'd keep all the Christmas decorations up until he got home. It was the first Christmas all of my children (5!) would not be together. The last thing I did before I went to bed on Christmas Eve was take a picture of his stocking and all the gifts under the tree and e-mailed it to him with a sappy "Night Before Christmas" poem about how much we missed him. Unbeknownst to me Ryan actually came home from Iraq three days before Christmas and surprised his brother and sister by showing up at his sister's apartment. He swore them to secrecy and surprised me by showing up on my doorstep Christmas morning. It was the best Christmas I ever had, and I still can't tell the story without getting teary!

Thanks for the opportunity to share my most meaningful Christmas. May all the members of the OGC have an equally memorable Christmas!

When I was a teenager in Miami, I belonged to a youth group. We were always involved in a lot of interfaith activities and my favorite was going to midnight mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Miami Beach. The hymns and carols were always so inspirational and to this day, whenever I hear "Oh Holy Night", I think back to those wonderful days and the innocence of those times.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a healthy and happy New Year.
